What to look for.
- A real plan, not just a tracker. The app should order your debts (snowball or avalanche), tell you what to pay on each this month, and show a debt-free date that moves when you change the extra payment.
- Low friction on payday. Logging a payment should take seconds. If it is a chore you will stop, and the plan only works if you keep it current.
- Honest pricing. A free tier that builds the whole plan, and a clear price for anything extra. Beware trials that convert silently.
- Your data, your call. Bank syncing is convenient but optional. You should be able to run the whole plan from typed-in balances.
- Help when you are stuck. Whether that is a coach in the app, a good FAQ, or a human on email.
