AI debt coach app: chat with Debby about your debt.
Debtless: AI Debt & Budget is an iPhone app with an AI debt payoff coach you can chat with about your credit card debt. Ask Debby, the chatbot coach, which credit card to pay off first, what your card interest costs each month, or what an extra $100 a month does, and get an answer worked out from your own balances, rates and budget. Updated October 2026.
What you can ask.
Debby is built for the questions people actually have about debt, asked the way they actually ask them. A few examples people type in their first week:
- "Which card should I pay off first, and why?"
- "If I put an extra $150 a month toward my debt, when am I debt-free?"
- "How much interest is my Visa costing me each month?"
- "Show me a chart of my balances going down."
- "Snowball or avalanche: what's the difference for my debts, in dollars?"
- "I just paid $300 on my Amex. Can you log it?"
- "I spent $64 on groceries. What's left to spend this month?"
- "My card offered me a 0% balance transfer. Is it worth the fee?"
- "I want to be debt-free by December 2028. What do I need to pay each month?"
- "I added a new store card. Can you put it in my plan?"
Because Debby can see the debts in your plan, you do not have to paste your balances into a chat window or explain your situation from scratch every time. Ask "which one first?" and the answer names your cards.
How it uses your numbers.
- [ 01 ]
You add your debts
Balance, interest rate and minimum payment for each card or loan. Type them in, or let Debby add them from a conversation or an imported statement. - [ 02 ]
The app does the math
Your snowball or avalanche order, monthly payments and debt-free date are calculated by the app's own payoff engine, not guessed by the AI. - [ 03 ]
Debby explains and acts
Debby reads that plan to answer you, runs what-if scenarios, draws charts, and logs payments or spending when you ask. - [ 04 ]
You approve changes
When Debby proposes a change, such as a new purchase, a deleted entry or a budget allowance, it appears as a review card in the chat and is saved only when you tap Confirm.
Privacy and limits.
Your data. Debby is powered by Claude, an AI model from Anthropic. When you message Debby, your message and a summary of your financial figures are sent to Anthropic to write the reply. Your conversations are stored in your private account so they sync between devices. Debtless does not sell your data, and you do not need to connect a bank. You can turn on a Face ID lock for the app. The details are in the privacy policy.
What Debby is not. Debby is not a lender, does not offer loans or debt consolidation, does not negotiate with creditors, and cannot make payments or move money. It is not a licensed financial advisor or credit counselor, and like any AI it can be wrong, so check anything important against your statements. If you are dealing with collections, a lawsuit or bankruptcy, a non-profit credit counselor or a lawyer is the right call.
What it is good at. Turning "I have four cards and no idea where to start" into a concrete order, a monthly number and a date, and keeping that plan current as you pay, so you stay on track.
Beyond the chat.
Debby sits on top of a full debt payoff and budgeting app:
- Snowball (smallest balance first) and avalanche (highest rate first) payoff plans.
- A debt-free date that moves as you pay, plus "pick a date" planning that works out the monthly payment.
- A monthly budget showing what is left to spend after bills and debt payments.
- Bank statement import to build your budget from what you actually spend.
- Reminders before payments are due.
