What is Debtless: AI Debt & Budget?
Debtless: AI Debt & Budget is an iPhone debt payoff app. Its features: snowball and avalanche payoff plans with a real debt-free date, budgeting, bank statement import, reminders, and Debby, an AI debt coach who reads your actual numbers. Pricing: free to download, then $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year in the US, with no free plan. It is for people paying off credit cards and loans who want a coach to talk to. It is made by Armaan Manji and lives at debtless.app.
What it does.
Debtless is for people paying off credit cards, student loans, car loans and personal loans who want a clear plan and someone to talk it through with. You add each debt's balance, interest rate and minimum payment, and the app works out the rest.
- Payoff plans. Choose snowball (smallest balance first, for quick wins) or avalanche (highest interest rate first, for the least interest), and the extra amount you can put toward debt each month.
- A debt-free date. A real month and year calculated from your numbers, which moves as you pay. You can also pick the date you want and see the monthly payment it takes.
- Debby, the AI debt coach. Chat in plain language: which card first, what an extra $100 does, where your money went. Debby can draw charts, log spending and payments, and update your plan, with changes shown for you to confirm.
- Budgeting. Income, bills and spending, and what is left to spend this month after bills and debt payments.
- Statement import. Import a bank statement and Debtless builds your budget from what you actually spend.
- Reminders before payments are due.
You do not need to connect a bank account. Debtless does not lend money, move money or make payments for you, and it is not a financial advisor.
What it costs.
| Plan | United States | Canada | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro, yearly | $59.99 USD / year | $79.99 CAD / year | 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers |
| Pro, monthly | $9.99 USD / month | $12.99 CAD / month | No trial. Cancel any month. |
Pro includes every feature above; there are no add-ons, and no free plan for new accounts. Some people may also see a $2.99 weekly option while we test pricing. Billing is through Apple and can be cancelled in App Store settings. Full details, including how the trial works, are on the Debtless pricing page.
Who it is for.
- People with several credit cards or loans who want a clear order to pay them in and a date to aim for.
- People who would rather ask questions in plain language than build a spreadsheet.
- People who want their debt plan and monthly budget in one place without connecting a bank.
It is not the right fit if you want a free app, use Android, or want automatic bank syncing. For those, see the best debt payoff apps or Undebt.it vs Debt Payoff Planner.
Privacy and your data.
Debtless needs an account: you sign up with email, Sign in with Apple or Google. Here is what happens to what you enter.
- What is stored. The debts, income, expenses and payments you type in. They live on your phone and in your private account in our cloud backend (Supabase), encrypted in transit and at rest, so they sync across your devices.
- No bank linking. You never connect a bank account. You enter your own numbers, or import a statement if you choose.
- AI processing. Debby chats, with a summary of your figures, and the text of optional PDF statement imports are sent to Anthropic's Claude to generate replies and pull out transactions. Your data is not used to train AI models. Debby gives general education, not licensed financial advice.
- Analytics and ads. Usage analytics exclude your amounts, statement text and chats. Meta ad measurement only runs if you allow tracking when iOS asks.
- Never sold. We never sell your data or share your financial figures with advertisers.
- Your controls. Turn on the optional Face ID lock, and delete your account any time in Settings → Delete Account.
