Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using the Debtless mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.

Debtless is a personal budgeting and debt-payoff planning app. Its projections, payoff timelines, and safe-to-spend figures are estimates based on the information you enter. The app provides:

• Debt tracking and payoff planning
• Budgeting, safe-to-spend, and expense tracking
• Progress tracking and home-screen widgets
• Debby, an optional AI money-coaching chat

To use Debtless, you must create an account and provide accurate information. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• Providing accurate financial information
• Using the app in compliance with applicable laws
• Not sharing your account with others

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could harm us or other users. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

4.1 Unlawful or Fraudulent Activities

• Providing false, inaccurate, or misleading information
• Using the Service to commit fraud, money laundering, or other financial crimes
• Violating any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation
• Circumventing or attempting to circumvent any security measures

4.2 Technical Restrictions

• Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the app
• Using automated systems (bots, scripts) to access or interact with the Service
• Attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Introducing viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Overloading, flooding, or impairing our servers or networks

Enforcement: Violation of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in account suspension or termination, removal of content, and legal action. We reserve the right to investigate violations and cooperate with law enforcement.

By downloading and using Debtless through the App Store, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Apple App Store: These terms are between you and Debtless, not Apple. Apple has no responsibility for the app or its content. Any claims must be directed to us, not Apple.
• Third-Party Platforms: Your use may be subject to additional terms of the platform through which you access the Service.

Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them directly against you.

Free tier: core budgeting and debt tracking, plus a limited number of Debby messages per day.

Debtless Pro: an auto-renewing subscription (weekly, monthly, or annual) that unlocks unlimited Debby coaching and all Pro features. The price and any free-trial terms are shown in the app and on the App Store at the time of purchase.

Payment: subscriptions are billed to your Apple ID through the App Store. They renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Any free trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.

Cancellation: you may cancel at any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Access continues until the end of the period already paid for. Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policy.

Changes: we may change Pro features or pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes for existing subscribers take effect at the next renewal, subject to Apple's consent rules.

No Guarantee of Results: We make no guarantees about the effectiveness of our recommendations or that following our advice will improve your financial situation. Financial outcomes depend on many factors beyond our control.

The Debtless app, including its design, functionality, and content, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app.

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES: TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: IN NO EVENT SHALL DEBTLESS, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of profits, revenue, or business opportunities
• Loss of data or information
• Financial losses resulting from following our recommendations
• Personal injury or property damage
• Costs of procurement of substitute services

DAMAGE CAP: OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

We may terminate or suspend your account for violations of these terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support.

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions, except where superseded by mandatory local consumer protection laws.

For Canadian Users: Canadian federal and provincial consumer protection laws may apply where they provide greater protection. Nothing in these terms limits statutory rights under Canadian consumer protection legislation.
